Traditionally, personal files are organized alphabetically by surname, so for example my name would be written on the tab of the file as Frisco, Evan. For added specificity, the middle name, or middle initial may also be used, so my name filed this way would be Frisco, Evan J.
If you share a document with other people, you can remove personal information, such as author name and company, that Office automatically adds to a document. On the Word menu, click Preferences. Under Privacy options, select the Remove personal information from this file on save check box. Save the document.
For instance, if youre putting together a guest list and need to alphabetize it by last name, you can use the sorting feature. Just pick the column with the last names and follow the steps above. So, save time and reduce errors, with Microsoft Words built-in feature for alphabetizing.
