How to Change/Edit Chart of Accounts - QBO Go to Settings ⚙ and select Chart of accounts. Select New in the top right corner. Click on the Account Type drop-down to select the account type. Select the Detail Type to specify the type of account that you want to add. Enter the name of the account in the Name field.
To clean up your COA you can delete the accounts that you have never used and the accounts that have been inactive for an extended time. It is good to refresh your COA every 3 months to ensure it is cleaned up.
How to Change/Edit Chart of Accounts - QBO In the left pane, click Accounting. Then Chart of Accounts. Click the New button. Fill in the necessary information. Hit Save and Close.
Go to the Lists menu, then select Chart of Accounts. Select the account you want to delete. Go to the Edit menu, then select Delete Account. Select OK.
