The method: Make a paste with baking soda and vinegar and spread it on the surface of the pan. Let it sit for 30 minutes, then scrub away with a damp sponge. Rinse, wash with warm soapy water.
Thanks to tin's largely nonstick qualities, very little food is likely to adhere to it, and if it does, it won't do so stubbornly. Filling a tin-lined pan with water, adding a little dish soap, and leaving it to simmer is often enough to free any stuck-on bits, which can then be wiped away easily.
Clean tarnished tin at home with dishwashing liquid, warm water, and a light hand. Heavily tarnished items may need a scrub with a baking soda paste, Bar Keepers Friend, or plain toothpaste. Use a plastic scrubber to prevent deep scratches.
