how to set up an invoice template in QuickBooks hey everyone my name is Matt holtquist with the QuickBooks University and I wanted to show you how to easily set up an invoice template in QuickBooks so we are here with QuickBooks desktop and you know QuickBooks comes with a lot of default and voices in other forms you know just in their own format but a lot of times you know most people at least a lot of people I meet business owners want to customize those invoice templates and even set up their own so that it just creates you know a better look for the company and so thats what were going to talk about in this video today all right so first what were going to do you go up to the list menu up here youre going to see an option here that says templates and you can see here there are lots of different this is a sample company file so when you go into you know a new company file there there will be some templates in there just the standard templates that it comes with but you can set

Edit an invoice template Go to the navigation bar and click Settings . From the side panel, click Invoicing Invoice Templates. Click Edit for the invoice template you want to edit. Make your edits as needed. When youre finished, click Save Changes.
To edit the column width: Click on the Gear icon. Select Custom form styles. Locate the template youre using when creating invoices. Click on Edit. Go to the Content tab and click on Table from the middle part. Beside Activity table, click on Edit labels and widths. Do the necessary adjustments.
Weve created separate invoice templates, one for Services and another for Products. We access them from the Customize button that appears on the bottom of the Invoice screen.
In case you print the invoice through the Invoice template, heres how to change it: Select Lists from the top of the screen while in QuickBooks company file. Select Templates from the drop-down menu. Highlight template to be printed. Select Edit Template.
Edit an invoice template Go to the navigation bar and click Settings . From the side panel, click Invoicing Invoice Templates. Click Edit for the invoice template you want to edit. Make your edits as needed. When youre finished, click Save Changes.
Select Lists from the top of the screen while in QuickBooks company file. Select Templates from the drop-down menu. Highlight template to be printed. Click on Templates at bottom of the screen.
QuickBooks uses the last saved invoice template as the default for the next invoice. You can use this feature to set the new template as the default without making all of the other templates inactive. Click Create Invoice, click the Template drop-down menu and then select the name of the new template.
Heres how: Click the Gear icon. Under Your Company, click Custom Form Styles. To create a new template, click the New style button in the upper right-hand corner. Select Invoice. Go to the Design tab to edit the template name, logo, color, font, and margins.
Click Print Edit to print a draft invoice. See Printing an Editable Invoice for more information. Click Print Final to final print an invoice when it has completed the review process and is ready to be sent to the client. The invoice status is changed to Final.
Right-click the Invoice Template Change Templates Class and make sure Invoice is selected. Select it if it isnt. Right-click the Invoice Template and select Edit Template.
