Yes! You may still assign a recommender to your colleges after you submit your application.
Can I change my letter information after my application has been submitted to AMCAS? You may add a new letter after your application has been submitted, but you cannot delete or change existing letter entries.
AMCAS gave me some confusing instructions that said You are not required to assign letters of evaluation to a medical school prior to submitting your AMCAS application. However, after you submit your application, letter assignments cannot be changed.
Speaking strictly as a matter of ethics, I would have to say no, it would not be unethical so long as you did not change any of the actual words (other than perhaps correcting their spelling) or change the meaning / intent of the letter.
A successful letter should avoid: General language or overly broad descriptors of the students performance in the classroom; Focusing on a students punctuality or ability to complete the readings. Too much time and attention detailing the relationship with the student or the content of the course.
Once your personal statement is submitted to AMCAS it cannot be corrected, altered or amended. This is why it is very important to read over it multiple times, have another person read it in the application itself and do everything possible to ensure your best work is presented.
If a recommender has already started the process of providing a recommendation, you cannot remove or edit that recommender.
Can You Reuse Letters of Recommendation? You can reuse your letters of recommendation, but medical schools do not keep them on file, so you will need to resubmit them each time you apply. Just because you can reuse a letter of recommendation doesnt mean you should.
Yes, you can add new letters of recommendation after your AMCAS application has been submitted, so long as you havent yet docHubed the 10-letter maximum. However, if youve already submitted your application, you must make sure to resubmit your application after you assign a new letter to ensure that its sent.
