If this method does not work, try this: Youll need 4 different cartridges, not important if empty. Each Canon cartridge has a chip with the serial number The printer has an internal memory that rememners the serial number of the cartridge you use. Therefore it can happen that the recently refilled cartridge is stated to be empty. But the memory of the printer usually remembers only the last 4 cartridges So, if you are now inserting in succession 4 different cartridges, empty or not and, after that, the refilled one, the printer should recognise and accept it Take out the empty cartrisde you want to refill. Insert the first cartridge into the printer. Allow the printer to recognise the cartridge. Take the cartridge out, and insert the second cartridge.
