Long press on the Add Layer button (the plus symbol) in the taskbar on the right and choose Adjustment Layer Curves. In the Layer Properties panel that appears, pull down on the center of the curve line to darken the image.
The faux bold option is listed at the bottom of the character panel. With the text tool active, double-click on the text layer thumbnail, then hit CTRL+T, this will pop up the character panel, the faux bold is the first button on the row of icons at the bottom of the panel.
One way to make text thicker is by using the Stroke layer effect. To do this, simply select the layer that contains your text and then go to Layer Layer Style Stroke. From here, you can adjust the stroke width and color to your liking.
Right-click the line you want to change and click Properties. Under Line, choose a color from the Color list and a line thickness from the Line list.
If only certain words or characters need to be affected, use the Type Tool to highlight the text. Open the Properties Panel . Youll see controls for Weight , Width and Slant . Weight lets you adjust the boldness of the text.
To make the stroke thicker or thinner, click the dropdown for the stroke in the appearances panel. You can also use the up and down arrows to adjust it. You will see the new thickness of your line.
Go to Image Adjustments Hue/Saturation. In this window, click the box beside the word colorize. From here, you can choose any color and increase the saturation and lightness until you have colored your handwriting. And voila! Here you have an editable photoshop layer for your handwriting.
In the Edit Text option, select Edit Object. Click the part of the PDF you want to darken. Edit the object with Photoshop, GIMP or another image editing tool that has options to adjust the contrast or change the brightness.
