if youamp;#39;re having trouble opening a dot GZ file or youamp;#39;re just not sure how to unzip this type of file we can use a program called 7-zip and if we google 7-zip we can download it for free from 7-zip org now once you download and 7-zip we can right click on the file and open with and we can select 7-zip now if you donamp;#39;t see 7-zip in this list of programs we can choose a default program click on this + and that should expand the other programs folder where we can find 7-zip now if 7-zip isnamp;#39;t in this folder either we can browse our computer by clicking on computer C program files and we can locate the 7-zip folder and select the Exe now once we have the exe and the program in this program list we can select it click OK and that will open up our dot GZ file and here are the contents now if we want to get the contents out of the GZ file we can right click on our desktop new folder and we can drag-and-drop all of the contents into the new folder on our desktop
