Language chunks are patterns of words that are regularly used together in the same (or nearly the same) order. Collocations, phrasal verbs, fixed (and semi-fixed) expressions, verb patterns, idioms, and more can all be considered chunks. All of a sudden, at the end of the day, and heavy rain are examples.
Information Types DITA provides three base topic types (concept, task, and reference), a number of extended topic types, and the capability to create new topic types through specialization.
The @chunk attribute can be used on grouping elements to combine multiple source documents into one result document. The result of evaluating the @chunk attribute on the element is equivalent to a single DITA document that contains the content of both ingroup1. dita and ingroup2.
Chunking breaks up long strings of information into units or chunks. The resulting chunks are easier to commit to working memory than a longer and uninterrupted string of information. Chunking appears to work across all mediums including but not limited to: text, sounds, pictures, and videos.
To chunk DITA topics, you set the chunking attribute on the that contains the sub-topics in a DITA map . There are several values that you can set on the chunking attribute (for example, by-topic or to-content ). See the DITA documentation for full details.
The chunking technique is a memorization method that begins with distilling large pieces of information into smaller pieces or chunks. You might do this by identifying similarities between key concepts to create categories, associating information with personal experiences, developing visual cues or creating acronyms.
