Redaction Tool For Microsoft Word When you use the redaction tool, the selected text or images are permanently removed from the document, and a black box is placed over the redacted information to indicate that it has been removed.
Simply type [REDACTED] or the word XX in the Find What control after the content you want to remove.

Go to Settings Masking. Under Masking mode, select a masking mode. Strict: The entire text is masked. Balanced: Only sensitive text is masked.
Open the PDF that contains the text you want to black out. Go to the Tools menu and select the Redact tool to open the Secondary Tool Bar immediately above the PDF. It includes the Redaction Tools. Choose Mark for Redaction and select OK when prompted by the pop-up window.
