Easy Depth Of Field Effect In Photoshop Step 1: Duplicate The Background Layer. Step 2: Select The Area That Will Remain In Focus. Step 3: Enter Quick Mask Mode. Step 4: Apply The Gaussian Blur Filter. Step 5: Exit Out Of Quick Mask Mode. Step 6: Save The Selection. Step 7: Apply The Lens Blur Filter.
A larger aperture (ex: f1. 8) will allow more light to docHub the camera sensor and a smaller aperture (ex: f11) will allow less light to docHub the sensor. The larger aperture (ex: f1. 8) will create a greater depth of field (more blurry background behind your focus/subject).
A large or deep depth of field will put a longer distance into focus. Landscape photography is a good example of a large or deep depth of field. In order to achieve a large or deep depth of field, you want a smaller aperture, which means the larger F-stops, i.e. a maximum aperture of f/22.
To play with depth of field, choose Filter Blur Gallery Field Blur. Youll see a pin in place blurring the entire image. Click an area you want to keep in focus to create a second pin, and then drag its blur dial to zero. Add more pins to set different amounts of blur for other areas.
Go to Filter Blur Gallery Field Blur. There are two sections that will allow you to edit your bokeh effect. First, the Blur slider under Field Blur in the Blur Tools panel. Alongside this, you can adjust the amount of light and color in your effect by clicking the Effects tab in the same group of panels.
Blur images with a brush or directional tool. Soften certain areas and draw focus to your subject by applying blur with your favorite brush. Select the Blur tool in Photoshop, choose a brush tip and strength, and drag it over the spots you want to blur. You can do the same in Lightroom. Show movement with motion blur.
Go to Filter Blur and choose the type of blur you want.
The easiest way to create depth is by blurring the background and the foreground. The thing is, you need something in the foreground to blur, and that is where people go wrong. They forget about adding a foreground element.
