today Iamp;#39;m going to show you how we engrave this awesome photo engrave onto Baltic Birch using our Thunderbolt laser letamp;#39;s jump on over to the computer and get things going I have a photo selected here of my grandson so Iamp;#39;m actually just going to drag this into lightburn and let go of it and whenever it comes in youamp;#39;ll see it actually takes up pretty much the whole bed thatamp;#39;s because this is a high resolution photo um which is what I prefer to use uh for Engraving these photos but we need to shrink this down now to make it into a 5 S cuz thatamp;#39;s what weamp;#39;re going to engrave and cut out on the Thunderbolt now just like Photoshop there are pretty much 100 ways to do the same job so Iamp;#39;m just going to show you the way that we can take this and turn this into a 5 by7 photo first weamp;#39;re going to grab the little box tool up here and draw out a rectangle and I want to make this actually 5 by seven so Iamp;#39;m going to turn

Engraving is the removal of some of the material by scratching or burning with a laser to create your design. Whereas embossing is the pushing out of a design with a die to create a raised or sunken 3D design in a material.
Identifying an Engraving Engravings can often be identified by several distinguishing characteristics including the presence of a plate mark, which is the outline of the metal plate that is impressed into the paper when pressure is applied to transfer the ink.
There are five traditional intaglio processes: engraving, etching, drypoint, aquatint and mezzotint.
Engraving is an intaglio printmaking process in which lines are cut into a metal plate in order to hold the ink. In engraving, the plate can be made of copper or zinc.
Examples of contemporary uses for engraving include creating text on jewellery, such as pendants or on the inside of engagement- and wedding rings to include text such as the name of the partner, or adding a winners name to a sports trophy. Another application of modern engraving is found in the printing industry.
Laser engraving is ideal for both engraving and for cutting holes or shapes. CNC laser engraving allows for much finer marking and cutting than CNC milling.
Heres a breakdown of the main types, they are CO2 Lasers, Fiber Lasers, Diode Lasers, UV Lasers, and Nd: YAG Lasers. We will give you detailed information about these different types of laser engravers.
There are different types of engravings including the following; Etching. Etching is a type of engraving that is used on crystal, stone, and glass. Rotary Engraving. Rotary Engraving is used on certain metals including gold, sterling silver, copper, and aluminium. Laser Engraving.
