You can’t make document alterations more convenient than editing your UOML files online. In this video Iamp;#39;m going to show you what I think is the most exciting feature weamp;#39;ve added to Blackout since our initial launch of the product, Native Excel Redactions. In previous versions of Blackout like all other documents in Relativity, Excels needed to be redacted as images. For documents like email, forms, PDFs and other paper analogs this works very well. But Excel spreadsheets introduce many unique challenges like, less than perfect accuracy due to OCR, increased storage needs due to TIFFing and then a final produced TIFF that in some cases is impossible for the receiving party to navigate. Redacting data means blacking out or hiding certain pieces of information. This can be done manually, by physically blacking out information on a document, or electronically, by using software to remove or hide information.
You can also use a redaction pen or sharpie instead of cutting out the sections. Slightly less time consuming then cutting and shredding, however, still manual. Use opaque tape or paper to cover the redacted sections.
What information should be redacted? Social Security Numbers (SSNs) Drivers License Numbers (DL) Date of Birth (DOB) Medical Record Numbers (MRN) Account Numbers. Addresses. Phone Numbers.
This includes names, addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, and even IP addresses. Once you understand what personal data is, you can start to think about how you can redact it. Redacting personal data or medical records means removing or obscuring them so they can no longer be used to identify an individual.
You can easily view blacked-out text in your PDF by following these steps: Open the PDF in Acrobat. Go to the Document menu. Click Examine Document. docHub will then scan the PDF and give you a checklist of items that you are able to remove by clicking on them. Choose the Preview button to see the hidden text.
To do this, navigate to Tools and select Redact Redact Text Images Find Text Redact. This makes it easy to identify and then black out that content throughout the document. You can also specify general patterns, such as phone, Social Security, or credit card numbers.
Sensitive information must be redacted: to protect the patient or another individual from serious physical or mental harm. to protect the identity of a third party, unless they have agreed to their information being shared. temporarily, until information can be discussed and shared with the patient.
Sensitive information, like financial account numbers, bank account numbers, and an individuals social security number, must be concealed from public view. Other details like an individuals birth name, address, phone number, and email address might also need redaction to protect privacy and prevent identity theft.
