Duplicate the layer by holding alt and dragging Create black and white, and curves adjustment layers Edit the curves by dragging on the ends White will be visible, black will be transparent and gray will be semi-transparent Merge the 3 top layers by selecting them while holding shift and right clicking to merge them from the menu.
