Utilizing Shutter Speed In Wedding Photography For ceremonies, we recommend not going under 1/60 seconds to avoid getting a blurry image. For receptions, being that theres a good chance youll be using lighting, shooting between 1/200th to 1/60th will provide the best images.
In that case, try an aperture of f/2/8 or f/4. On the other hand, lower apertures isolate the subject, making it the whole focus of an image. This is why its best to use apertures between f/1.8 to f/2.8 for bridal portraits.
The Dark and Moody style usually looks great in spreads, with images displayed side by side in a storytelling format. Consistent lighting, editing, and storytelling, combined with this style of wedding photography, make these images perfect for album and wall art.
Best Aperture for Weddings Again, wide aperture, such as f/1.8 or f/2.8, can help to create a shallow depth of field. This will blurr the background and emphasize the subject. Additionally, the wider aperture youre able to use the better youll be able to balance that with your shutter speed.
With a low f-stop (f/1.4) and a shallow depth of field, youll put your subject in focus. If you want a group of people in focus, use a narrow aperture or higher f-stop (f/10). For outdoor events in full sun, use an ISO of 100. As light availability decreases, increase the ISO with caution.
My preferred setting for general wedding shots is to pick f4 or 5.6, set my minimum shutter speed to 1/125 and ISO to auto.
Black is professional and classy. If were all in black, the guests know exactly who we are and what we are doing. Black gives a cohesive look to my team. Black allows you to blend in with the background.
