In this video, were going to take a look at how we can use the iPhone to automatically fill in PDFs. This was introduced with iOS 17. Now before we get started, you do need to have the PDF downloaded to your iPhone. This will not work with any PDF that youve scanned or taken a photo of. You have to download it. So lets go over to my iPhone and see how this works. I have here in my files app, a PDF that Ive downloaded. Again, this does not work with PDFs that youve scanned. So I tap on it and then I have this PDF up here. This is a 1040 EZ form. For those of you who are not in the States, this is what we need to file with our IRS. So I tap on it and we have a number of fields. Im going to zoom in here. Youre going to see we have a number of fields up here that I can fill in. Well the iPhone will automatically recognize what needs to be in these fields. As an example, lets go over to my first name here. When I tap in this field here, youre going to see above my keyboard here, it

You can quickly add your personal information to online forms using AutoFill. Open the Safari app on your iPad. In a form on a website that supports AutoFill, tap a blank field. Tap AutoFill Contact above the keyboard, then select a contact. Tap any field to make changes.

Fill out forms with AutoFill If prompted, open the document in the Files app , then tap Save. , then tap a blank field. Tap an option from your saved contact info to complete the field. Tap Choose other to use AutoFill to enter another persons information from your contact list, such as a family member or caregiver.
Set up AutoFill You can save your personal information or credit card number on your iPhone to speed up filling in online forms and making purchases. Go to Settings Safari AutoFill. Do any of the following: Set up contact info: Turn on Use Contact Info, tap My Info, then choose your contact card.
Text Replacement Open Settings General Keyboard Text Replacement. Click on the + symbol to add a new shortcut. In the Phrase textbox, add the text that you want to be suggested. In the Shortcut textbox, add the text that you want to type to prompt the suggestion. Save! Now go test it out in any app of your choosing.
Fill out forms with AutoFill Tap the file to open the document. If prompted, open the document in the Files app , then tap Save. Tap. Tap an option from your saved contact info to complete the field. Tap any field to select it, then tap again to make changes using the onscreen keyboard. Tap Done to close the document.
Fill out a PDF form On your iPhone or iPad, open the Google Drive app. Tap the PDF you want to fill out. At the bottom, tap Fill out form. If you dont see the option, you may not be able to fill out this PDF. Enter your information in the PDF form. At the top right, tap Save. To save as a copy, click More. Save as.
