[MUSIC PLAYING] So letamp;#39;s dig into how we can actually use imagery to write a verse section. One of the ways we can prepare to use imagery in our verses is to understand how the music of a verse is structured. Letamp;#39;s dig in the melody for a moment and see how a four line or a six line verse section can show us how we could write lyric for a four or six lines section. Melody in a four line verse section, which is a very typical structure at least in commercial music, we can hear that very clearly defined. The melody is often where we see a melodic motif, which is a small musical sentence. Itamp;#39;s kind of like a fingerprint of the song. We can identify that melodic rhythm and pitch of the first line of a verse as indicating we can identify that song, what that sounds like. And that melody often repeats. So within a four line section, we hear that repeating either the melody in line one is also repeated in line two and line three, maybe even again in line four. But some

A common format for biblical citations is Book chapter:verses, using a colon to delimit chapter from verse, as in: In the beginning, God created the heaven and the earth (Gen. 1:1).
Religious text Name of religious text (not in italics). Chapter/Surah:Verse. Book version (if applicable). Date (in round brackets and only required where applicable in the reference list). Location: Publisher.
General Guidelines: Versions of the Bible or individual books are not underlined, italicized, or placed in quotation marks. However, underline or italicize individual published editions of the Bible.
A Verse is a collection of metrical lines of poetry. It is used to define the difference of poetry and prose. It contains rhythm and pattern and more often than not, rhyme.
Use a or b in the Scripture reference to indicate youre only quoting part of a verse (for a verse with multiple sentences). Your readers will then know that youre referencing only the first sentence of a verse (a), or the second sentence (b).
Parenthetical Citations: The first time you reference a version of the Bible, in the in-text citations, give the name of the edition (italicized), followed by a comma and the abbreviated book (see back of handout), chapter, and verse. Use a period, not a colon, between the chapter and verse: John 3.16.
Footnotes, Endnotes, or Parenthetical Citations: You do not need to include the Bible in your bibliography. When citing a passage of scripture, include the abbreviated name of the book, the chapter number, and the verse numbernever a page number. Chapter and verse are separated by a colon.
