hi Im Scotty from Ogden built and today were going to talk about Construction contract Basics if youre a contractor in the construction industry you got to have some contracts in place you got to have some agreements in place were going to talk about why we need to do this and basic steps along the way as to what to include in your contracts the reason that I started writing contracts is because I had a builder that really wanted to know what I was including because he didnt want a list of extras at the end of the job and I was really apprehensive to write this because I thought it was going to trap me into something that I wasnt going to make money on I ended up writing an agreement and because I was so detailed in thinking about the steps along the way I included every little detail in writing and I allowed for that price so at the end the owner was satisfied that I did what I promised and I was also satisfied because I included everything and and actually got paid for that and

What is a price quotation? A quotation is a fixed price offer that cant be changed once accepted by the customer. You must adhere to the quotation price even if you carry out more work than you expected. If you think this is likely to happen, it makes more sense to give an estimate.
Just a simple thanks for taking the time to put a quote together for us, weve decided not to go ahead with your company is sufficient. When I send my quotes Ill often ask people to let me know as soon as they can if they decide not to use me so I can reassign that time in my schedule.
If youre not comfortable getting into the specifics about why the contractor didnt get the job, simply let them know that you have decided to go with another company for your project. You can end the message by thanking them for their time, which is a courteous and sufficient closing.
Once work begins, the contractor must stick to the quote that they gave you. If they need to make changes in the work and/or price, contractors need to put this in writing and communicate it to you. Only after you accept the changes may they legally proceed.
