The Property Maintenance Code of New York State (PMCNYS) is a code that regulates the minimum maintenance requirements for existing buildings. The PMCNYS is a maintenance document intended to establish minimum maintenance standards for basic equipment, light, ventilation, heating, sanitation and fire safety.
28-302.1 General. A buildings exterior walls and appurtenances thereof shall be maintained in a safe condition. All buildings greater than six stories shall comply with the maintenance requirement of this article.
